Phenolic reinforcing resins improve the hardness, tear resistance, and wear resistance of rubber compounds used in tire manufacturing.

Phenolic Reinforcing Resin SR205

SR205 is a high-efficiency reinforcing resin that, when used with a methylene donor, enhances rubber compound properties through thermal vulcanization.

Product Characteristics

When combined with methylene donors like hexamethylenetetramine (HMT), SR205 significantly improves:

  • Hardness of rubber compound
  • Tear strength and abrasion resistance
  • Tensile strength and modulus

For optimal reinforcement, add 10% HMT relative to SR205 quantity. HMT can be substituted with other methylene donors such as hexamethoxymethylmelamine (HMMM).

SR205 features granular appearance with minimal dust generation, ensuring convenient weighing and handling.

Processing Guidelines

To prevent scorching during mixing:

  • Add SR205 reinforcing resin during early mixing stages to utilize its plasticizing effect
  • Add methylene donor during later stages along with accelerator and sulfur
